meters or feet....(p.24)

“…there are no wrong turns, only unexpected paths.”

-Mark Nepo

-Auguste Renoir

Meters or feet…

The length of an object depends upon the metrics we use.

Is it one meter or 3.28084 feet?

It’s the same distance, just two different measurements.

I have thought a lot about where I am in life right now.

How far have I come?

Where do I wish to be?

Am I behind? Ahead? Just right?

Depends upon the metric I use.

Using much of the world’s metrics, I am behind.

But maybe I measure differently

or do I?

Some days I do not.

The world’s measurement is my own,

and I wonder how I can catch up.

Then I remember that metrics vary.

Each of us has our own.

To compare would be like trying to match fingerprints.

We each have our own unique lines and paths to paint our masterpieces.

We cannot paint by numbers

that would be someone else’s.

So when I wonder where I am, let me remember

how I measure is mine and mine alone.

Let me not look to the left or the right

but stand firm where I am,

knowing I am ALWAYS on the right path.❤️
