heart is stronger than steel (p. 15)

“The world is indeed full of peril and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all the lands, love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.”

-J.R.R. Tolkien

Michelangelo’s David

None of us walks away from this week unchanged.

Our hearts ache.

We sit with bated breath each morning as we learn what has happened the night before.

How can I write of beauty in such a time?

How can I not when it shines so brightly.

I have seen bravery and courage that make me weep.

Acts of patriotism that will be recorded in history books.

Odds are being overcome by sheer love and loyalty.

How heart can overcome steel.

Beauty this week isn’t one we ever want to look for.

But is never forgotten, is long written about, and changes history.

It’s so tempting to look away, but I will ask you not to.

I am not sure of what role each of us plays, but as we are being shown, we can alter the tide together.

The entire world is in my prayers. ❤️
