the finest masterpiece of all (p.18)

“Home is the nicest

word

there is.”

-Laura Ingalls Wilder

My letter this week is more like a postcard.

Though I didn’t travel to a far-off place to find this beauty.

No, this beauty can be found anywhere.

It lives with us.

But it’s impossible to touch.

In fact, you cannot see it, touch it, smell it, taste it or hear it.

And it’s impossible to photograph.

It is not found outside of us, but the beauty found inside us.

And we each have our own masterpiece.

What do these paintings capture?

Home…a beautiful state where our hearts live.

My home is serene and light. It has a playful, joyful calmness. OR it can also have an aliveness that excites to great heights. It is full of miracles. It’s full of possibilities. It is full of love.

What does your home feel like?

I don’t always live in this beautiful place. But I own it. It’s mine to always come back to.

The beauty found on the inside…it has to be the finest masterpiece of all. ❤️
